The Erasmus Program of the European Commission has funded ActKnowledge to serve as the external evaluator of a two year program in five countries to reach artists in sparsely populated areas to find peer opportunities, jobs and an environment with enough cultural and economic opportunities to allow them to stay in their home region if they choose.
Currently, many artists move to urban centers, reducing the cultural capital and civil society of rural areas.
Our director Heléne Clark has worked with the lead agency, InterVolk, of Denmark on other projects.
The project is managed by the Voluntary Arts Association of the UK. The country partners are the UK, Hungary, Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
